This course will provide students with comprehensive insight into the concepts required to develop valuable music production skills for a wide a variety of contemporary musical styles and genres.

Through a study of musical instruments, arranging and recording, and production techniques, students will gain valuable knowledge of current music production processes. During this course, students will also explore the roles of today’s music producers through analysis and a wide variety of musical ‘case studies’ which will explore how a producer can help develop and cultivate and influence an artist’s musical ‘sound.’

About Course Credit

If you choose to take this course for credit, you will be required to attend the instructor-led virtual classes for the course and record your attendance through our Learning Management System (LMS). To receive credit for the course, you must complete all course evaluations and obtain a minimum final grade of 60%. If you enroll in a course for credit, our Registrar's office will schedule a meeting with you to review the For Credit requirements in advance of the course start date. If you choose the Not for Credit option when you enroll, you will still be registered in the same course and have access to all of the same lectures and materials as the For Credit students, but you will not be able to apply the course as a credit towards one of Metalworks Institute's Online Diploma Programs.

Davor Jordanovski
Instructor

Davor Jordanovski is a highly successful composer, arranger, music producer and a recording artist. Originally from Macedonia, he was the featured keyboard player with Macedonian National TV’s Big Band Orchestra, and composed, arranged and produced some of the biggest acts in the country. Since moving to Ontario, Davor has done work for Sony/BMG as a composer / arranger / producer, and had his work featured on many radio shows and TV shows featured on CBC, MTV, OMNI TV and more. He was the studio musician for Shania Twain’s 2009 release titled, ‘The First Time…For the Last Time’ and has been nominated for multiple awards.
