The Introduction to Music Publishing course introduces students to the history, functions and operations of music publishing.

Topics include copyright acquisition, songwriter contracts, performance licensing, mechanical licensing, print publishing, synchronization rights, royalty structures and methods of royalty collection. During this course, students will examine the different types of music publishers as well as their roles and responsibilities.
  • This is a certificate course which means that students who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion from Metalworks Institute. However, this course cannot be applied as a credit towards Metalworks Institute's Online Diploma Programs.
