This course will provide students with an introduction to the fundamental concepts of ear training from a musician’s perspective.

In this course, students will examine harmonic and melodic intervals, inverted intervals, major and minor scales, pentatonic scales and chromatic scales. Most notably, this course will focus on the audible recognition of these concepts through practical application as well as its relation to notated music. In addition, this course will also discuss methods and techniques used to identify intervals & scales by ear.
  • This is a certificate course which means that students who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion from Metalworks Institute. However, this course cannot be applied as a credit towards Metalworks Institute's Online Diploma Programs.
