This course will provide students with a broad introduction to the theoretical, technical, creative, and artistic principles of sound and recording in the digital domain.

This is a certificate course which means that students who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion from Metalworks Institute. However, this course cannot be applied as a credit towards Metalworks Institute's Online Diploma Programs.

In this learning module, students will be provided with a broad and thorough introduction to both analog and digital technologies as related to audio. Topics include digital audio, bits and bytes, metric prefixes, the fundamental principles of audio codecs, hardware and digital mastering, and more.
