This course will provide students with a complete introduction into the principles of sound through a study of acoustics. During this course students will be introduced to physics principles, wave propagation and auditory perception.

Students will also learn the acoustics principles behind musical instruments and their sound creation. Students who earn this certificate can put this credit toward our diploma programs and micro credentials.

Module 1 - The Physics Of Sound
In this learning module, students will be provided with a broad introduction to the physics of sound including the dual nature of sound, transmission of sound, waveforms, frequency and pitch, amplitude, wavelength, harmonic content, and overtones.
